Hey, i want honest opinions .. should i keep writing this ?
A young boy ran out of the store. "Stop you damned thief ! Get back here !" The store keeper yelled after him.
The boy laughed and turned the corner quickly, losing the store keep. He turned and jumped as he walked into two older boys. "Oh, Shinji its just you." The boy sighed, grinning.
Shinji, one of the older boys slapped him with the back of his hand. "What the hell do you think you were doing Shou !?" Shinji yelled
"You almost gave your brother here a heart attack." the other boy beside him added.
"Shut up Toshi !" Shinji snapped.
"Relax bro. I can take care of myself." Shou said cooly
"This comming from an eight year old orphan ! 'Fer christsake, atleast tell me next time yer gunna do something stupid." Shinji said, calming down.
"Right, as you say Shin." Shou told his brother and they all walked off.

Not far from where the robbery had taken place a bus stopped. A kid walked down the stairs. He wore a cloak covering himself, everything was hidden but a small part of his face under the hood. He took a few more steps and stopped. He placed his bag down on the dead grass. The streets were dusty and smog filled the once clear sky. The boy took in a deep breath then let it out as he picked up his bag once again. He began walking.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Oh ! Shou i have something to give you." Shinji said as he opened the door to the orphan's hideout.
"Really, Shinji !? What is it !?" Shou cried happily and walked in, looking around.
Above ground the hideout looked just like and old beaten down shack. But inside was a hidden door that only the street kids knew about. The door lead to a case of stairs which lead to the hideout. Shinji, his brother Shou, and thier friend Toshi had lived there most of their lives. The other orphans had come after them and they formed a group, now known as "The Orphans of Maleppa." Any street kid was welcome here. Inside the hideout were sofas and beds. An old television and a dart board. It was lit by hanging lights.
"Okay, Shou. Cover your eyes." Shinji ordered.
"Alright." Shou put his hands over his eyes and waited. His anisipation building.
Shinji put a box on the sofa where Shou was seated. "Here." he said and stood back.
Shou opened his eyes and opened the box quickly. He looked inside. "Shinji? But ... they're new and ... you need them too." He said looking at his brother. Inside the box were brand new clothes.
"Shou, take them."
"I cant !" The boy pushed the box away. He understood that all the kids needed new clothes. He felt bad being the first one to get them.
"Shou ..." Shinji looked at his brother saddly.
"Fine ! I'll take them." Shou got up, taking the clothes out of the box. "Just hope i don't get killed because of them." He mumbled as he walked past his brother on his way to his room.
Once Shou dissappeared into his room Shinji sighed and sat on the couch. He put the box on the floor for a foot rest. "Here i am doing something i think he'll like and he get all ... weird." He told Toshi
"I know what you mean ... I think he's just scared the other will be mad."
"Well they know the rules. Don't be jealous of what one has, work towards getting it for yourself. And if they hurt him ill kill them."
"Well that would go against the other rule." Toshi told Shinji
"Oh ... right."
Shou lay on his bed looking at the clothes as if they would attack him. Relutantly he put them on. The jeans and black top fit him perfectly. 'Shinji ... thanks ...' he thought and lay back on the bed, falling asleep.
The boy in the cloak walked down into an alley. Again he put his bag down. He pulled off the hood of the brown cloak, revealing his brown hair and steel grey eyes. He sighed. "Ill stay here untill sundown and then leave for something to eat." he thought out loud taking off the rest of the cloak and stuffing it into his bag. He was about eight years of age and wore a crimson red sleeveless top with black pants. Around his neck he wore a gold chain, from it hung a gold ring. The boy looked at the name carved into it. He sat against the wall and closed his eyes.
Hours later Shou was waken up by his brother. "Shou ! Lets go !" Shinji yelled.
Shou sat up and rubbed his eyes. "What? Where are we going?"
"We are going to rob another store. You in?"
Shou jumped out of bed. "Yeah ! Lets go !" he said happily
Both brothers walked out of the room and met up with Toshi and some other orphans. "Lets go." Shinji told them as he walked past. He opened the door and lead them to their next target.
As they walked along the street Shou looked up at the sky. "Look ! You can see the moon tonight." He pointed.
Shinji nodded, looking at it as well untill they came to the store.
It was a rather small store but it made lots of money. As Shinji walked up to it he noticed the lights were out inside. "Some one is already here?" he thought out loud and walked in. He ordered two of the kids to stay outside while he, Shou and Toshi went in.
Shou walked down one of the aisles and took a few things from the shelf.
"What the hell happened here !?" Shinji yelled as he looked at the store keep. The man lay dead on the cash register.
"No blood? But how?" Toshi asked him looking at the dead man. "He has two wounds on his neck. That's it."
"Oh well. Whoever did it is still here."
"How do you know?"
"No one would kill the man and leave. They'd take the money." Shinji told him, moving the man tothe floor. He opened the cash register and took all the money that was inside. He and Toshi ran to the door.
Shou left the aisle and turned to go down another. He turned and wlaked into someone.
Shinji stopped as the store was filled with a scream. "Shou !" he yelled and ran back looking down all the aisles until he found a boy with his hand over Shou's mouth. He ran up to his brother and knocked the other boy out. "Are you okay?" He asked Shou.
They both looked at the boy on the floor. "He's an orphan ..." Shou said.
"He is? Then we'll bring him along." Shinji knelt down and picked up the boy.
"Shinji ! Cops ! Hurry up man !" they heard Toshi yell. All ofthe orphans ran from the store and to the hideout.
Shinji placed the boy on a spare bed. Toshi but the bag the boy was carrying on the ground beside him. "Any ID?" He asked Shin.
"Yeah. This ring has something carved on it." He reached for the ring on the chain.
The boy woke up immediatly and grabbed Shinji's wrist tightly.
"OW ! Bastard !" Shin pulled his hand away and looked at the boy.
"Who are you? Where am i?" The boy asked sitting up, holding on to his head.
"My name is Shinji. This is our hideout." Shinji told him. "Who are you?"
"They call me Kei." He told Shinji.
"Welcome to the hideout of the orphans of Maleppa." Shinji said and was called out of the room.
Shou walked in a while later. He looked at Kei, who was just sitting in the bed. "Hey there." Shou said carefully.
Kei looked at him. "Oh .. your the kid from the store. Sorry about scaring you." Kei appologized. "And for what i did to your brother."
"Did Shin tell you he was my brother?" Shou asked.
"No."
"Then how did you know?"
"Uh ... you look alot alike." Kei lied.
"Oh ... okay then. Your eight right?" Shou asked, sitting on the edge of the bed.
"Yeah... you are too right?"
Shou nodded. "Ill show you around if you want."
"Okay. As long as we don't go outside." Kei got off the bed and walked to the door.
"Alright." Shou followed him and showed him around the hideout. ""You planning on staying here?" Shou asked.
"Yeah, that'd be great. If it's alright i mean."
"It is but you'll have to pass a test."
"Initiaton?" Kei looked at him.
"Yeah. Tonight. My brother said he's going to make it hard for you. He says your strong."
"Me? Haha ! No, im not strong." Kei laughed nervously.
"No? But you almost broke his wrist this morning."
"I did?" Kei looked at Shou, worried.
"Don't worry about it. He'll be fine."
"Well what will i have to do?"
"I don't know, it's different from every member." Shou told him.
"Well ... what did you have to do?" Kei asked, curious.
"I didn't have to take the test. Me, my brother and our friend Toshi were the first ones here."
"Oh .. i get it."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Near midnight Kei was called to a room in the back of the hideout. The room was filled with home made equipment for training. Shinji and a few others put Kei through some psyical tests such as weights and push ups. They were amazed. For an eight year old kid he was the strongest in the whole group. 'He was the one who killed the store keep.' Shinji thought as he watched Kei, who barely broke into a sweat.
"What now?" Kei asked Shinji
"Now we test your real skills." Shinji said and they brought Kei outside. "See that store there? Go."
'Go? What? ... Oh ! I get it now.' he thought and made his way to the store. He picked the lock carefully and opened the door. Kei walked over to the register and opened it taking the money, then he walked out as if nothing had happened.
"Wow, Shinji. He's good."
Shin nodded. "He is. He's good for a kid."
The small group went back to the hideout so the other could decide weither Kei could join or not. Kei was told to stay in the room he was in before while they made up their minds and that he'd be allowed to know in the morning. Shou woke up later that night and walked to Kei's room. He opened the door, suprised to see Kei sitting up, awake.
"Hi Shou." Kei said, happy to have company.
"Hi ... aren't you tired?" Shou asked.
"No .. not really. So what did you want?"
"Just came to see how the test went."
Shou and Kei spent the rest of the night talking about the test and then they moved on to Shou's past and by the time it came to Kei to share his past Shou had fallen asleep.
